Landsborough is a chain of retail stores worldwide, specialising in camping equipment, travel apparel and accessories, mapping systems and equipment for remote travel and four-wheel driving. Founded in Melbourne in 1997, the company is named after William Landsborough, who in the mid-1800s is credited as the first person to cross Australia North to South from coast to coast in search of the famously ill-fated explorers, Burke and Wills. The brand embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration and pays homage to its Australian roots with earthy colours, references to navigation symbols and the use of traditional camping equipment materials in its branding, which related back to William Landsborough’s original journey across Australia.
